Weddings & Anniversaries
Our heraldic artwork has been an integral part of many medieval and renaissance weddings, with the metal shields playing a large part in many ceremonies.
Each shield is a hand painted original that is signed and dated by the artist-making each of them a truly one of a kind artwork that you and your family will cherish in the years to come.
NOTE: Current completion time for Shields is 10 to 12 months. Restrictions apply. The deadline for ordering Hand Painted Metal Shields for Christmas 2008 delivery is April 1, 2008.
Metal Shields
We can either render two separate shields -- one for each side of the family, or we can combine the two coats of arms onto one shield to show the union of two families. The combined shield is divided into four quarters, with the male arms in the first and fourth quarters, and the female arms in the second and third quarters. The full size shield pictured here shows the arms of Adams of Ireland (red with golden-yellow heart & crosses) in the first and fourth quarters, and the arms of Littell of England (black fleurs-de-lis on white, a white castle tower on black) in the second and third quarters. And although prices vary depending on the complexity of the two designs, please note that the Combined Coat of Arms is a bit more expensive than ordering two separate shields. This is due to the fact that we are rendering FOUR Coats of Arms on the Combined Shield -- TWO for EACH Family line. The Combined Coats of Arms will also take longer to complete than Single Coats of Arms. (NOTE: The Combined Coats of Arms are not available on the Half Size Shield.)
Each metal shield is handcrafted from 18-gauge cold-rolled steel, then powder
coated to help prevent rust. Every design element is then painted by hand
following the original heraldic designs and images, using modern sign enamels
that prevent colour fading. It comes complete with the ridged and riveted
edge in metallic silver, two welded metal hooks and a chain for easy display.

For those who wish to carry their shield in the ceremony, they can be fitted with either a welded metal grip and one sturdy 1/8" thick, 1" wide leather strap (add $99), or two leather straps (add $79). Each strap is riveted by hand with the rivet heads painted to match the front of the shield.
NOTE: Current completion time for Prints is 4 to 6 weeks. Wedding & Anniversary Print orders must be made at least 45 days prior to the wedding date.
DOUBLE COAT OF ARMS PRINT - 20" x 16"
This classic design features side by side shields to display the Coat of Arms of both families, so it makes a great gift for weddings and anniversaries. This print includes the knights helmet and mantling to highlight the two shields, with banners above and below for the family names and the wedding date. It can also be used to show the birth date of the heir of these two houses, making this beautiful print a great christening gift.

DELUXE DOUBLE ARMS PRINT - 20" x 16"
This stunning design features side by side shields to display the Coat of Arms of both families, with a lion and lioness as supporters, a battle axe and staff, and a beautiful array of decorative oak leaves, laurel leaves and mantling. This newly designed print also includes a name banner below the each shield for the family names and a separate knights helmet and crest for each family above the shields. The Deluxe Double Arms Print also includes a banner between the knights helmets for the wedding date between the two helmets. This banner can also be used to show the birth date of the heir of these two houses, making this print a spectacular christening gift.
